Ascension Catholic School serves students in grades PK3- through grade 8 and is dedicated to the teaching mission of the church by providing the child with a family-centered, value oriented educational environment. We are committed to academic excellence and acceptance of 21st century educational philosophies and technologies. The faculty and staff of this pre-kindergarten through eighth grade school are committed to a Christ-centered atmosphere of learning, guidance, concern, experience and discovery. Regarding students as individuals, we are dedicated to a curriculum that provides a structured academic foundation with stimulating critical thinking, fostering creativity and collaboration and encouraging self-initiated learning as a life-long process.
Our new principal is Mrs. Claudia Stokes.
Mrs. Stokes comes to us from St. Joseph Catholic School in Palm Bay where she served as their principal since 2011. Mrs. Stokes brings a rich background of service within the Church. She previously worked as a middle school teacher for St. Joseph and became the school’s principal in 2011.
Her experience also includes acting as director of lifelong faith formation at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Viera and teaching in Broward County and Miami-Dade County public schools. Presently, she is completing her doctorate of education in educational leadership at Florida Southern College.
Ascension’s curriculum includes religion, mathematics, language arts, science, social studies and Spanish, as well as art, computers, music and physical education at all levels. Soarin’, an enrichment program is offered, along with a Title I funded learning support program. Extra-curricular programs include academic, non-academic and sports activities.
