Ascension competes in the Catholic Youth Sports League which is comprised of  the Brevard Catholic schools. Typically there are Varsity and/or Junior Varsity for both boys and girls. Some years there are also JJV teams, depending on need and resources. Teams practices are set by the coach. These middle school  teams are competitive teams and not all players will play equally, however the coaches are there to develop the skills of all that are on the team and will do their best to play all that are on the team when the situation presents itself. Boys and girls in grades 6th through 8th are eligible to try out for the teams.

Students in grades K-5 play on teams with volunteer coaches and practice times are set by the coach.  These teams are instructive and are meant to teach students the rules and fair play.
