Student Life

Students at Ascension have many opportunities to learn and grow. While their academic development is of paramount importance, the focus is on developing the whole person. Ascension students are immersed in an academic environment of excellence that challenges students to be creative and critical thinkers, who integrate faith, moral leadership, and compassionate service in order to create a more just and humane world. Our commitment and practice of instilling a heightened sense of social justice, personal responsibility, and respect for others is unique, as is our focus on the spiritual, intellectual, physical, creative, social, psychological, and emotional formation of all students.

  • Athletic Programs

    The Physical Education Program at Ascension offers scheduled time for all students to engage in a variety of physical activities and organized games, promoting muscle strength, coordination, and overall fitness. After school athletic programs are available for students from Kindergarten through 8th grade which include: basketball, cross country, flag football, soccer, track & field, and volleyball.

  • Clubs & Activities

    Extracurricular activities and clubs are a wonderful way for students to explore different types of activities and disciplines outside of  the structured academic environment.  Clubs and after school activities available include: Chess Club, CyberPatriot, Drama, Google CS, Student Service Council, and Band.

  • Fine Arts

    Fine Arts in education is essential for fostering creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking in students. It enhances their cultural awareness and emotional intelligence while providing them with opportunities to develop unique talents and gain confidence through artistic exploration. Fine Arts play a vital role in shaping well-rounded individuals prepared for a diverse world.

  • Spiritual Life

    At ACS, spiritual life is central to our community. Students participate in a weekly school-wide Mass, with opportunities for students to serve as lectors and altar servers. The school band, liturgical ensemble, and choirs enhance our worship with beautiful music. This weekly liturgy fosters a sense of community and allows students to actively engage in their faith through shared worship.
